Verena E. Brunschweiger, author, childfree activist, feminist, was born in Passau, Germany, in 1980. She studied German, English and Philosophy at Regensburg University and got her PhD in 2007.

She teaches at a Bavarian grammar school. Before Corona, she was the most passionate member of Theater Regensburg’s extra choir, performing in several operas by Verdi, Puccini, Bizet and many others. She still accompanies her favorite professional basso on the piano. Reading books in several languages is another great passion. Verena speaks English, German, French and Italian fluently.

In 2019, her manifesto Kinderfrei statt kinderlos (Childfree, not childless) caused an international stir. Newspapers in Sweden, Hungary, Poland, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium and of course Austria and Switzerland wrote about Germany’s childfree author and her massive impact.
